St Leanord's Hospice, York posted:

We’re saying a huge thank you to Eboracum for the generous donation of £15,000 that we’ve received this week in support of our Cuddle Bed Appeal. This donation means that we can buy another cuddle bed for one of our bedrooms at the Hospice.
Carl Nickson, Managing Director of Eboracum, said: “The appeal touched our hearts. If you’ve got the ability to make a difference and donate, then we’d encourage you to. We hope that other businesses will feel like they can do it as well.”
Michaela added: “We’ve had a few people in our circle of friends who have used the Hospice over the last few years. The more you encounter other people who have been affected by terminal illness and loss, the more you imagine going through it yourself. You start to think about how you would want to manage that process. We know we’d want the chance to use a cuddle bed if we were in that situation.”
We’re so grateful for Carl and Michaela’s kindness and compassion, which will bring comfort, dignity and connection to patients and families for many years to come.
If you’d also like to support our appeal to raise £75,000, so we can purchase a cuddle bed for every bedroom at the Hospice, you can find out more and donate here: https://stleonardshospice.org.uk/cuddle-bed-appeal/
The Hospice Housekeeping Team Leader at the Hospice, Tracey, sees every day how important cuddle beds are to patients and their families.

"The moments I witness at St Leonard’s are truly priceless. They fill me with a warmth that's hard to put into words,” she says.
“Seeing what our cuddle beds mean to our patients and the people who love them is a privilege, and it's these moments that remind me exactly why I love what I do. When my dad was at the Hospice 10 years ago, we didn't have any cuddle beds. Dad would have loved his grandchildren to climb onto the bed with him. How amazing that this appeal will give every family the chance for one last cuddle."
Help make sure nobody has to say goodbye from a distance and donate to the Cuddle Bed.
